Piula Publications is published by Ron Potter and reflects some of his major interests. Ron is a Minister of the Word (retired) in the Uniting Church in Australia and the Worship Material section (Poems, Prayers and Hymns ) contains various forms of material that have been used in leading worship and are freely made available for use by others preparing services of worship.
The name Piula is borrowed from the name of a theological college in Samoa of which Ron was the Principal way back in the late sixties. It is the Samoan form of Beulah found in the King James Version of Isaiah 62:4 where it refers to a people happily married to God.
Some of the studies that Ron has prepared and which have been used by small discussion and Bible study groups are made available for use by other similar groups. For a listing of topics click on Group Study Guides.
Click on Lectionary Themes for a short article suitable for reproduction in pew bulletins or church notice sheets. The weekly theme is suggested by something in the Revised Common Lectionary for the relevant Sunday.
Another of Ron’s interests has been researching the meaning and origin of place names in South East Queensland and the result of this extensive research is made available in the section labeled Place Names of South East Queensland.
By clicking on Art Gallery you can look at some of Ron’s art work, another of his interests and activities. You can also find some of his work displayed on the Blackall Range Visual Artists website: http://www.blackallrangevisualartists.com/
Ron outlines his thinking on various topics under the heading That's what I think .
